Juho Jutila joins Vuono Group

Juho Jutila joins Vuono Group

as a Business Architect and Business Engineer.

It is time to introduce the newest addition to the team, Juho Jutila. He describes himself as someone who solves the problems no one else wants or knows how to solve. And after you've read this introduction and Juho's career path, you'll realise why that is not an overstatement of his abilities and experience.

In addition to being a creative force in any team, he also sees the value in the mundane routine. He is always looking for opportunities to combine time-tested approaches with a dash of something novel. For him, learning new things means doing the old things better.

He holds a master’s degree in technology. He was part of the initial batch from the study program of Information Networks at Aalto. The program addresses the gaps between different engineering disciplines and looks to unlock value through teamwork and cross-disciplinary thinking. Learning together with diverse, but like-minded people never felt like a bad deal for him.

People in knowledge-intensive jobs see a lot of perfect shapes. Even a small piece of cumbersome handiwork can make content stand out.

His first real job was in a small strategy boutique. It had a background in logistics. The company was strong in reporting, worked a lot through scenarios, and did groundbreaking work in ecosystem orchestration. Personal growth was part of the company's values. No intellectual challenge was too much to be considered. During his time there, he learnt to walk the fine line between the impossible and just plain difficult.

Visualisations can be powerful. Sometimes a simple piece of paper can communicate complex ideas and provoke understanding. The briefcase probably contains printouts clients love to riffle.

After wearing suits, he took a spin at a software company focusing on deploying and extending a software product. Products can provide value at scale, and tailoring them can help address very specific challenges. It’s a dangerous game since it comes with the risk of additional maintenance and deviation from standards. In addition to a great team, unforgettable company parties, and an ingenious application of tech, it was a lesson in project management.

Working with a great team is great! Having an insider’s view of a software ecosystem can give a completely new perspective.

The next learning chapter for him was in a global consulting company. He experienced the ins and outs of global business. He travelled the world, met foreign cultures, and worked with brilliant clients and colleagues. He learned a lot about driving large-scale transformation programs and how to structure approaches for complex problems.

There he is - seeing the world, meeting people from different cultures, and working with them.

What is more fun than a spaceship operated by a team of super-intelligent koalas? It’s working in a youthful, energetic, and growth-hungry digital advertising agency - as the oldest guy in the company. Experience often comes hand in hand with duties. These duties are valuable, but they keep us from learning and trying new things.

Juho had never seen and been part of an organisation that could adapt to new things so fast. The world of digital commerce was a sweet spot for him in many ways – a chance to build something new on top of what the clients already had. Truth to be told, the company also threw pretty good parties.

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Company Halloween Parties sometimes resulted in running really memorable morning meetings.

Recently he has been dipped in the magical ocean of AI. He had a brief stint in a tech company with a focus on data and how to use it. He learned that there is such a thing as AI Strategy. For other than pure green field players, the AI Strategy is built on top of existing layers of capabilities. There was and there still is a lot of hype around it. On the other hand, a sprinkle of magical pixie dust can work wonders if you are willing to look at things from another perspective. It’s not trivial, but it can be fun and exciting.

There’s been a lot of hype around AI. It’s not all hot air. Personal productivity has already changed a lot for some. We also start to see initial implementations on process efficiency. The door is starting to open for bigger process network reconfigurations or entire business model transformations.

At Vuono Group, Juho seeks an environment with aligned values and interests. The idea of automation is especially compelling. The critical question is: how do we make the machines do the necessary work in order to allow us to pursue well-being and self-actualisation? He hopes to bring his drive, curiosity, and experience to the team. At Vuono Group, he looks forward to being part of a team with a can-do attitude and working with people who are not afraid to learn more.

In his free time he tries to stay in shape and spend time with his younger son who still lives home. Sports on boards have been a hit recently. He also draws (guess who’s drawn the mystery animals here), reads loads, and sometimes even writes.

They do wear helmets. Drawing cool helmets with big pointy ears was just a bit too much of a challenge.
