Sampo Rapeli joins Vuono Group as a Software Developer from Justin Group Oy.
Sampo is the most recent software developer recruited to our team. With a diverse background spanning various tasks and a passion for software development, Sampo brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our clients.
Sampo's journey in the professional world has been diverse, often revolving around software-related tasks. His expertise includes direct software development, product development, specification writing, vendor relationship management, web maintenance, and support activities. His experience ranges from maintaining and developing websites to handling web shop operations.
Academically, Sampo has a rich educational background. He completed his B.Sc. (Tech.) in Information Networks from Aalto University with Honors, specialising in Computer Science as a minor. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Information Networks, majoring in Software Engineering and Architectures, with a minor in Computer Science. Alongside his studies, Sampo has actively participated in guild activities, including a stint as the CTO at Athene. He's also an avid hackathon enthusiast.
So, what led Sampo to join Vuono Group?
“I wanted to focus on software development. I first heard about Vuono Group at the Athene recruitment fair, but the time wasn’t right for changing jobs then. However, Vuono Group seemed like a perfect match for me, so I applied anyway. Everything turned out great timing-wise, and here I am!” Sampo says enthusiastically.
In terms of skills, Sampo excels in high-level planning and turning ideas into reality through programming. He's comfortable navigating the Linux terminal and has a natural affinity for web technologies. That being said, his toolkit is not limited to just JavaScript, but using tools like Docker, Bash, SQL, Python, Flutter, Lua, C and many more excites him.
Sampo isn't afraid to dive into writing tests and documentation, ensuring the quality of his work. He emphasizes usability, data privacy, and accessibility as crucial aspects of any project.

On a personal note, Sampo finds balance beyond the computer screen. He goes to the gym, jogs, sails, and participates in student musicals. Spending quality time with loved ones is equally important to him.
