Matti Haavikko joins Vuono Group
Matti Haavikko joins Vuono Group as a Senior Software Developer, changing from entrepreneurship to consulting.
Matti is one of our most senior software developers with more than twenty years of experience in the field. Before joining Vuono Group, he worked for more than 10 years at his own company developing a SaaS business, and before that, he had an extensive career as a software architect and project manager at Futurice.

Matti brings with him a lot of quiet knowledge, something you can learn only by doing. He is a spokesperson for software development being much more than churning out code and documentation, the real value lies in understanding what's valuable for the customer. What's the problem we are trying to solve? What's the environment the customer is operating in? What are the risks, and how can we help the customer to mitigate them?

At Vuono Group we believe that it's important to articulate to the customer what's our way of working and why we are doing some of the things that we are doing. For example, the value of a clean internal architecture or automated unit tests is not necessarily self-evident for the customer, but it helps if we connect it to customer's goals - for example, less bugs, smaller maintenance costs and long-term success. We couldn’t find anyone more suitable to carry out this mission than Matti.
“During his career, Matti has worked in various domains, ranging from industrial automation to 3D animation. The core of his competence is working with backend systems, APIs, and integrations. On his free time Matti loves to take his kids on adventures to nearby forests and Nuuksio to explore and enjoy nature. He also likes to read random Wikipedia pages and delve into trivial things.
